Leadbitter Construction Sponsor Atlantic Six

Leadbitter to-day pledged a generous £5,000 in sponsorship for the Atlantic Six, an elite group of ocean rowers and endurance athletes who have formed an all British crew to attempt to break the French held fifteen year old record for rowing the Atlantic from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean.
One of the crew, George Oliver, is an assistant quantity surveyor with Leadbitter. The company has given its full support to George ever since he first approached them for permission to take time off work to participate in this challenge and have encouraged him throughout the busy preparation and training phase of the past few months.
George and the crew will travel to La Gomera next week to greet their boat, the 'high tech' Oyster Shack Ocean Challenger, which is currently in transit from the UK. Exactly when the crew leave La Gomera will depend on the weather but the expectation is that they will depart during the first week of December and hope to arrive in the Caribbean less than 35 days later.
