Hello Simon. Sounds like this last lap is tough. You know the saying"the longest mile is the last mile home" sounds like that is true for you. All the best and thinking of you. Love "Auntie Beryl"
Hi guys and George in particular. Well done - a splendid effort. Staff and students here at UWE have been following your progress with considerable pride and admiration. Very best wishes, Martyn Jones
George and team aboard 'Oyster Shack'. Looks like it's less than 100 miles! Well done on such an amazing achievement - think what's ashore!! Best of luck for those final hours - row like hell! Jane and Paul (Byrne)
I hope they are now safely ashore, as they had 79 nautical miles to go at 6 am on Sunday, but with you being several hours behind UK time, then they may be landing anytime. What an achievement for just 5 of them. 14 rowers may be just a little bit faster, but I bet their new record will stand for a long time - the best time ever for a crew of 13 or less! So proud of George for his achievement, and I am sure the whole wider family will be amazed by his attempt, let alone the terrific result. Nic Marsden
Great effort lads, put the records aside for a second and consider your achievement.
When it all comes down to single days, hours, it's about weather which is obviously being uncooperative. Oyster Shack and crew are undeniably fast ..well done.
Kind regards Roy Finlay
